Gav Looks At Ways Of Working With These High Strike Rate Bets
A simple and logical way to reduce bets is to cross reference both rosters and see if there are any double qualifiers.
Today (October 20th) we have the following qualifying races for both Dutch Gold & Diamond:
- 2.15 Market Rasen – William Hunter & Normal Norman
- 2.45 Ffos Las – Etamine Du Cochet & Aimee De Sivola
- 3.35 Stratford – Atlantic Storm & Excellent Team
- 3.50 Ascot – Cracksman & Crystal Ocean
- 4.55 Ffos Las – Zamparelli & Welsh Wizard
- 9.15 Wolverhampton Arrowzone & Safrani
So we have already narrowed the field of vision to just a few target races and we can now think about how to stake them, so let’s look at the odds:
- 2.15 Market Rasen – William Hunter & Normal Norman 2.42 & 2.44
- 2.45 Ffos Las – Etamine Du Cochet & Aimee De Sivola 2.16 & 2.96
- 3.35 Stratford – Atlantic Storm & Excellent Team 2.32 & 3.15
- 3.50 Ascot – Cracksman & Crystal Ocean 1.96 & 3.95
- 4.55 Ffos Las – Zamparelli & Welsh Wizard 3.3 & 5.9
- 9.15 Wolverhampton Arrowzone & Safrani 2.98 & 3.35
The Dutch Value Index (DVI) of some of these bets is quite low.
That is, the % profit you can get from your stake is from lowest in the 2.45 (1.24) to highest in the 4.55 (2.11)
Another way to look at those DVI figures is odds: they would be 1/4 and 11/10 respectively. Make sense?
How About We Put Both Selections In A Staking Plan?
We can use a variation of the HRP Platinum Staking Plan as follows:
- Split the Dutch bets into two columns with shortest odds on left and longest odds of the pair on the right
- Stake the left and right hand columns individually to the following rules:
- Begin from 2pts left hand column and increase by 1pt after a loser, stop at a profit
- Begin from 1pt right hand column and increase by 1pt after a loser, stop at a profit.
